Hey, guys. Got my card up, and distributed about a hundred or so around the Carson casinos. haha. Got a little negative attention from security, but when I said it was for a 'non-profit organization' haha, he left me alone.

Also, I have an assload of butcher paper, the kind they use to wrap packages for mailing. Some colored permanent markers, tape, and some cheapass wooden dowels later, and we'd have a kickass banner that can be held between two or three people. Do we want to gather a little early to make some signs?

Somewhere I also have a bunch of foamcore but it's got graphics attached to it (I scrounged it from a convention). I could tape more butcher paper over it to give the paper some substance and someone could use those. My husband would be glad to see the stuff out of our house. Foamcore+double sided duct tape (i haz it)+yardsticks = kickass sign.

If I have a car by the 12th I'll bring all of it and anyone who needs signage can take their pick.

I like that idea. Many other protests have adopted this strategy & it really seems to pay off.

So where do we want to meet? Is there somewhere semi-close to the Wal-Greens that we could use without annoying someone?

And once again, do we know any people who have lost family members to the CoS? It seems to me that that would be a more powerful message.

I'll be in Reno today, maybe I'll make up a few flyers to hang up while I'm there...something like "If you have lost a loved one to the COS's disconnection policy and would like to help change the policy, please e-mail..." etc. I can hang them here in Carson too but it seems to me that more people would be affected in Reno, since that's where the CoS is.

Now this is something that advertising might help us with.

With people who were directly affected by the church on our side, it would definately get the message across.

Plus constant marching forces the public to watch since we'd be EVERYWHERE.

I like the idea of advertising on Craigslist. That could be interesting. Also potentially very creepy results, but that's Craigslist for you.

I think Public Access television is a resource that Anonymous really needs to work on hitting this next round of protests, and may try and drum up more interest in the idea on Enturbulation. Of course I won't go into details, but I've worked in the business of public access and know how it operates.

In essence, public access channels are there for anyone to use. Free. You can bring in anything short of hardcore pornography or "Call to Action" advertising (With Copyright respected), and it'll air so long as you meet some very basic criteria. First, you have to drop it off under your real name in the city you live in. Douglas County has public access, Carson City has public access through the Brewery Arts Center, and Reno has public access through CAT10 over on Moana.

Some public access facilities even let you use studios, editing equipment, and cameras IF you know who to ask and can sometimes pay for access to the equipment. Douglas and Carson wouldn't be great for this, but CAT10 might be good.

Technically, all you really need to do is give the public access operator a DVD of your program that they can then use in the broadcast system they have. As long as it's a typical video DVD, that's all you need. No cost, no muss, no fuss.

Basically, if you want to make a 2-3 minute PSA for the protests on April 12th, do it, put it on a DVD and say "We'll be protesting April 12th at X location in Reno, for more information go to www.etcetcetc.com..." You can do it, give it to them as a PSA, give them text for a "Community Bulletin Board" entry, also free. And they'll run it right up to the event date. I would prefer if someone else other than me did this here in Carson, however. I can help with wording through this forum though.

As well as a PSA, you can also produce a program of any length and submit that to the public access people. Ten minutes, fifteen minutes, twenty minutes, two hours... as long as you have the legal copyright or permission to use any material you make the content with, it can work. General rule of thumb, you can use copyrighted material in snippets or clips but not full songs as the background of video. You can probably get permission from indie artists like MC Lars, I'd guess, but make sure to credit EVERYTHING at the end of the video.

I've decided I'm definitely going to start seeing what I can do to get other Anon looking at public access too.

If someone can produce a DVD I can do the public access thing here in Carson. I know the guy who runs the BAC.

He's a dick, but I know him.

I have to go into Virginia City today to watch my stepdaughter play softball. So I'm gonna flyer while I'm there. Good exposure since the easter egg hunt is today. Also, the people in VC tend to get real touchy about personal rights and family bonds. XD

Although I've met Darla Bayer once, I think, back when I was working with the media. But yes, I can do that if someone wants to make a DVD, if you're uncomfortable with going over there.

I would offer to do it if my even walking in the door over there wouldn't be a bit higher profile than I'd want.

It happens. There's a lot of places I wouldn't be comfortable dealing with, either, but the BAC isn't one of them. So yeah, if someone DOES want to get a DVD together (I don't have a DVD burner or anything like that, so I'm kinda helpless in that respect), and hand it off to me, I can do the delivery.

Just put together these fliers. The big color ones would be great for bulletin boards, etc. and the 1/2 page size is if you want lots of these to hand out/hang up. I'll be out sometime this week or the next sticking these up all over town.

This raid should prove to be an interesting one should this propoganda bring together so many people.

Send me a copy of the press kit you have drawn up. I used to work at KTVN and still keep in contact with the reporters, producers, and News Director. May is a sweeps month and I can get this story pushed onto the air with them. If I do this we're going to need a speaker. I'm no good for that. I can only get a crew and reporter that will do the story right. Not fox news style. iamthebender@gmail.com. I'll start this early to get the reporter on our side, she'll ask the right questions and put this in a good time slot. People want to know why a bunch of masked hooligans are telling cars to honk against tom cruise.

I've printed up a bunch of you found the card and google Lisa McPherson cards, and have been randomly leaving them in every store I go to. I think every little bit helps, no?

No doubt. It only takes the smallest spark to start a fire. The Lisa McPhearson info, especially, brings in people because her name sounds both familiar and mysterious all at once and that's a magnetic force.

but one helpful way of getting people n our side is to also target other religious groups for our favor.

its pretty easy to find out information on the church of scientology. and information regarding other religions....

one way is to tell some of the people who pass by what scientology thinks of your religion.

remember the movie theaters that xenu made the ghosts watch... well...
let people know and let them get outraged.

also... some of the anons in san fran and bay area have used tactics like taking those stupid scilon fliers that fold over...
taking shittons of them.
printing out shittons of our awareness hand outs and stuffing them inside the scilon fliers. then reinserting the redone fliers back into the public ares where we found them....

what happens when average joe pics up a flier... he opens it up and VIOLA! they see our information as well.

another thing we could utilize since reno is a freaking its a small area... we have the ability to chalk raid areas. its not that hard.

what ive done in the past is take a small flier no major links. but simply ask a question. like...

"what would you do if your family or friends joined a cult?"
then at the bottom of the flier
have an answer...
"find out how to arm yourself and help stop that from ever happening"
then you have a link to an awareness site.

its highly effective and since reno is pretty much where old people go to die...
