Forgive me if this is supposed to go in the video thread, but I felt this was important enough to receive its own post.
Sadly, the phone number was disconnected sometime last night, meaning the hack is no longer in effect.
I realize it seems as though it's all fun and lulz here, but this is probably going to be used by the local Scilons as ammunition against us on the 12th in one form or another. To put it another way, if they didn't get our attention before, they definitely have it now, and I don't know how helpful (or harmful) that's gonna be.
Or maybe they realize that it was all done for the lulz.

I was searching on YouTube to see if I missed any new videos from the Reno protest, and that came up. And then someone on Partyvan IRC brought it up.
I had nothing to do with it, honest. I'm not a hacker on steroids so much as I am a hacker on supplemental vitamins.

Don't look at me, I left my hacker steroids behind me when I turned 18 many years ago. This was probably not a wise idea for someone. Especially with tracing systems as good as they are these days.

The voice didn't sound familiar to me either, though I was only at 3/15 and not 2/10. Also, it looks like the YouTube submitter had other videos of a similar sort up on his account. Odds are, in the day of prepaid cellphones and free national long distance, that it was done by someone who has probably never seen our local Scilon Basestar in person.
